Denise Velasco, EdM
Curriculum Director, Cofounder
Denise is the Guidance Counselor, Co-Coordinator of the ASPIRE career readiness program, and Co-coordinator for the Outdoor Credit Recovery Adventure Program at Network Charter School (NCS). She has been a foundational part of NCS since 2004 wearing many hats including math teacher, health teacher and is currently in administration.
The extent and diversity of her experience have supported all facets of the school for the last 20 years, including but not limited to the transition of many administrations, support of all the teachers, and the development of numerous programs to support students.
Heather Hickcox, MaT, LMT
Curriculum Director, Cofounder
Heather believes that every student deserves a clear path to independence and fulfilling employment. As the Special Education Coordinator and Co-Coordinator for both the ASPIRE career readiness program and the Outdoor Credit Recovery Adventure Program at Network Charter School, she specializes in creating learning experiences that build confidence alongside technical skills.
With a rich background that includes ten years as a trades instructor in Lane Community College’s Massage Therapy Pre-Licensure Program, Heather knows exactly what skills students need to succeed after graduation.
Her curriculum design philosophy is rooted in her eight years of experience running and growing a full inclusion school, combined with actionable support. She creates turnkey scaffolds and differentiated resources designed for diverse classrooms - where, on average, over 50% of students served require an IEP or have a documented educational disability - ensuring learning flourishes for every student. Her focus is on fostering strong relationships and equipping students to pursue rewarding, post-secondary opportunities with confidence.
